Holiday Food
Yum! There is nothing like having delicious food for the holidays.

Oreo Truffles. You have probably seen this on Pinterest. Ground up Oreos mixed with cream cheese then coated with chocolate.
Another dessert that is popular is pumpkin pie dessert with the cream cheese layer then the pumpkin layer, usually has instant vanilla pudding mixed in with the pumpkin. Well I enjoyed the Oreo Truffle on top of my pie.

Happy Holidays to everyone.

Velveeta Down Home Macaroni And Cheese
I always enjoy quality time with my son. We were shopping at the store one day and he spotted the Velveeta. He bought some for me and asked me to make some macaroni and cheese. Usually, there is a recipe on the box. He got the small box and there was not a recipe on the box. I looked up the recipe and the Down Home Macaroni and Cheese recipe online.
Of course, it was delicious. We love macaroni and cheese.

S'more Bars
I found the recipe on the cereal box.
The recipe was on a box of Hy-Vee brand of gram cereal.
To make these you will need to melt 5 T. butter over medium low heat.
Add 1/4 cup corn syrup and a 10 oz bag of miniature marshmallows minus 1 cup.
Once the marshmallows are melted add 1 t vanilla.
Then add 1 box of graham cereal, a 12 oz bag of chocolate chips, and the reserved 1 cup of marshmallows.
Add to a greased 9 x 13 pan, pack down firmly. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
It is pretty much the same recipe. Enjoy!

Tasty Eats - Wordless Wednesday
Here is home made lasagna.
I have seen of poutine on the food channels, and I had to try it when I saw it on the menu at Red Robin. It is french fries, deep fried cheese curds, smothered in mushroom gravy, and topped with more cheese. I guess this dish originates in Canada.
Here is banana bread, I had a recipe post that need a picture. So I made up the banana bread recipe for the picture for the post. Also my son wanted some banana bread. The recipe can be found here.
My drink from Culvers.

Sunflower Seed And Peanut Bars
These bars are packed with stuff that is good for you, like....
1 1/4 cups of sunflower seeds
3/4 cup coconut
1/4 cup roasted peanuts
1/4 cup honey
2 T peanut butter
1/4 t vanilla
Mix the seed, coconut, and peanuts in a bowl.
Mix the honey, peanut butter, and vanilla in a bowl. Add to the sunflower seed, coconut, and peanut mixture.
Mix well and press into a greased (and/or line with parchment paper) 8x8 pan.
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
Cool about 30-40 minutes.
Enjoy! You might not care if these are good for you, they are delicious.
So I have to give credit to were I was inspired to make these bars. It comes out of the Bon Appetite magazine. It is the Sesame-Peanut Bars. I went with sunflower seeds because it was cheaper than sesame seeds. So you can make this recipe with sesame seeds if you want.

Yes, why that is tomato soup and ramen noodles. I did add fresh tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and cheese.
This is a brownie with chocolate and white chocolate chips. The brownie recipe also did come from the 50 Bar Cookie insert from the Food Network Magazine.
I was at the grocery store and could not resist taking a picture of orange cauliflower, there was purple there too.
Finally I have grilled cheese with pesto in it.

Tasty Eats IV
Since now that my husband started a new job, he hasn't been home to cook dinner. This means not a lot of tasty eats to share.
My son brought this peanut butter dessert home with him. It was rich and decadent.
Made me up a smoothie one night. It is milk, peanut butter, and chocolate syrup. Mixed in some ice.
I made a home made veggie mac and cheese.
This is snicker-doodle bar. The recipe comes out of The Food Network Magazine. It is in the 50 Bar Cookies Insert.

Tasty Eats III
Our youngest son decided to cook up some Greek burgers for dinner one night. Turned out delicious. He did not have a lot of experience cooking, so my husband had a lot of input on this dish.
Who doesn't love Rice Krispie Treats.
So in December of last year I did a post on Minnesota Wild Rice Griddle Cakes. So this time I made the product into a waffle. The only deviation is the I whipped up my egg white. I do that for all my waffles. It make the waffle light an fluffy. However these waffle were a little on the dense side, but delicious with butter and honey. Don't forget the orange juice.

Double Chocolate And Raisin Nut Cookies
My husband at first was skeptical about these cookies when I first told him I was making these cookies. After he tasted them, he said it was delicious. It reminded him of chocolate covered raisins.
So go ahead...make them for yourself.
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of shortening (I use 1/2 butter and 1/2 cup shortening)
1 t vanilla
2 eggs
2 Cups Flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1 t baking soda
1 cup raisins
2 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
Cream the shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Then I add the dry ingredients, adding the raisins, chocolate chips, and nuts last.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet, bake for 8 -10 minute in a 350 degree oven.
