Show Your Stuff #4

If you are looking for the the first three editions, I had it on one of my other blogs. I decided to move Show Your Stuff blog hop here. I don't have really many rules, just link up anything you are proud of and want to show off. Chirstmas Eve my loving husband slow cooked a pork roast for dinner, he put it in before going to church. We were welcomed home to an awesome smelling and tasting pork roast.

Crab N Grab

We made this as a side dish, but it could work as an appetizer. It is a twice baked potato with an imitation crab topping. So here is the recipe:

Slice 6 russet potatoes in half lengthwise. Layout on baking sheet, salt and pepper to taste. Bake in 400 degree oven until browned, about 1/2 hour.

For the topping:
8 grams imitation crab
1/2 onion, finely diced
1 oz mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon basil
1 tablespoon thyme

Mix topping ingredients. Spoon mixture on top of potato wedges. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Swiss and Mushroom Pizza Burgers

I have to admit, when my husband mention He was making Pizza Burgers, school cafeteria pizza burger come to mind..real nasty. But the one he made turned out really good. It's a Swiss and mushroom burger wrapped around some pizza dough. When we made these, we made 7 burgers, but the link I am giving for the pizza dough might not cover more than 6 burgers. So you will need:
Pizza Dough. The link to a pizza dough recipe can be found here
4 large burgers
swiss cheese
Sliced onions
mushrooms
Roll out the dough to about 8-9 inches around
add slice of Swiss cheese

add some mushrooms
add some diced onions
Add the Burger, use your own recipe or ours here.

Fold dough around patty

Place seam down on cookie sheet, bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes

Enjoy!

Chocolate Orange Cookie Recipe

If you love the taste of chocolate and orange, then this cookie is definitely for you. I wanted to experiment adding an orange flavor to my favorite chocolate drop cookies. I am happy to report that I was successful. These cookies are awesome! These cookies will soon disappear.
So here is the recipe:
2/3 cup butter (I use 1/3 shortening and 1/3 cup butter)
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
1 egg
juice of an orange, add enough milk to make 1/3 cup
zest of an orange, about 1-2 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 salt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chip (it is optional, but I would add them)

Preheat oven 350 degrees Mix butter, sugar, egg, orange zest. Mix the dry ingredients. Add milk, juice, dry ingredients, and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet, bake 8-10 minute or until done.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

A Marvelous Mess
Edit Dec 11, 2001:
This cake was featured here.
I have seen someone blog about their experiences with a chocolate chip cookie cake back during the summer. So like many recipes I find and want to make later, I book marked the link. My son recently had a birthday and said he wanted this cake made. I like this cake, but be warned that the ingredients are a little bit pricey and everyone thought it was good, but rich. The recipe for this cake can be found here.

Photo Challenge

The red Christmas Tree Candle has been in my family as long as I can remember. I am glad that I still have it in my possession. At one point my mom gave me a bunch of Christmas ornaments, over the years I have come to cherish them.
