Recipe by David Huston
Ingredients:
- 4 Pita Breads
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 sliced Banana peppers
- 1 teaspoon Coriander
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 small diced onion (I recommend using red onion for sweetness and color)
- 2/3 cup fresh parsley (coarsely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon Paprika
- 1 pound Ground lamb
- 4 ounces crumbled Feta
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Prepare the Pita Breads: Place the pita bread on a cookie sheet and stab air holes in the bread to prevent puffing up during baking.
- Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine all the other ingredients except for the lamb and feta. Mix well.
- Add the Lamb: Incorporate the ground lamb into the mixture until well combined.
- Assemble the Pitas: Spread the lamb mixture evenly onto the pita bread. Sprinkle crumbled feta on top.
- Bake: Bake the assembled pitas for 15 minutes.
- Cool and Serve: Let the pitas cool for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve your Spiced Ground Lamb Pitas with a refreshing Greek salad, crispy Greek potatoes, and a side of Greek vegetables.
