I have done Orange Jell-O Chocolate Chip cookies and Lemon-Lime Jell-O cookies back in March 2013. 8 years later I have made Jell-O cookies again. This time I had a small box of Black Cherry Jell-O and I made cookies with it.
This time I formed the cookies in a vintage cookie cutter.
So I thought I would put a generic recipe so you can make
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 - 3 oz package of Jell-O
2 large eggs
1 t vanilla extract (I used cherry extract for these cookies)
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
If you are going to add a mix-ins, add 1 cup
Mix butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients. Form 1 inch ball, roll ball in sugar, place on baking sheet and flatten using bottom of a glass. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes.

I never heard of Jello cookies before but I'm sure they had a great flavor.
