Wafer Recipe

Edit June 25 2011:
I finally got a chance to make up these cookies and put up a picture with the recipe. I never toasted sesame seed before. I put them in the oven at 325 degrees for about 15 minutes. I probably could of toasted them for a little bit longer. I also made up own brown sugar by adding about 1 1/2 tablespoons of molasses to 1 1/2 cups of white sugar. The recipe called to bake them for 10 minutes. In the picture of the cookies, the cookies on the far left were left to bake for 10 minutes, the edges turned too brown, so I baked the remaining cookies for 8 minutes. These did turn out pretty good, I would made them again. I might experiment and try this with finely chopped nuts.

Wafer Recipe

Ingredients:
* 3/4 cup melted butter
* 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 egg
* 1 cup toasted sesame seeds
* 1 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
* 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add vanilla and egg; beat until light and
fluffy. Stir in sesame seeds, flour, baking powder, and salt. Drop by half
teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets, allowing enough room for spreading.
Bake at 375° for about 10 minutes. Remove from pans immediately.
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
