I actually got to help help making my husband's newest creation. It has many fresh ingredients, like the potatoes, celery, and carrots. We were in the mood for clam chowder and this recipe delivered.
So here is the recipe.
Deluxe Clam Chowder
16 oz. of Baby Clams in juice Separate and save juice)
16 oz. of Baby Clams in juice Separate and save juice)
8 oz. chopped crab meat
8 oz bacon (Chopped)
6 medium Russet potatoes (Peeled and cut into small cubes
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 medium yellow onion (diced)
1 Table spoon butter
2 10.5 oz. cans cream of celery soup
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
1 Tablespoon dill (finely chopped)
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay spice
Place bacon in 5 qt. sauce pan and cook till crisp, drain grease. Add onions and celery till sweating, then add clam juice and potato cubes and cook until potatoes are fork soft. Add remaining ingredients except butter and mix well. After mixing add butter and let melt. Simmer and stir occasionally for 20 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 3 qts.
