I made this up again adding about 1/8 t. baking powder and it does make a difference. I also make in a small plastic bowl. I also made up some peanut butter icing. It doesn't look pretty, but we are eating it immediately. I also shared this cake with my son.
I am sharing this with many wonderful link parties. go check out the Blog Hops tab to see all the link paties I participate in.
Chocolate Cake in a coffee mug, nothing like having chocolate cake in under 5 minutes. I thought that the cake was a little heavy, maybe because there is no leavening agent in the recipe. Next time I might try adding some baking soda.
So here is the recipe:
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT!
Five minutes sounds so enticing. I'm glad you're sharing at Joy of Desserts, please don't forget to hyperlink back to me too. Thanks. :-)
