1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts - I did not have chopped nuts. I added a bag of peanut butter M&Ms
Blend in shortening, brown sugar, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla. add in remaining ingredients. Drop by round teaspoonfuls and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until done.
This vintage recipe appears in Betty Crocker's cookie book from 1963. My mom has this book. I enjoyed going through the recipes in this book. Ethel's sugar cookies and toffee squares are favorite out of this book. When the reproduction of this book came out in about 2002, I had to get a copy of my own.
